Bruce Erlenbush

     Bruce Erlenbush, 71, a resident of Dallesport, died at his home on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008.
     He was born in Herried, S.D., on Feb. 13, 1937, the fourth child of five to Emil and Martha (Pudwill) Erlenbush. He grew up in Minnesota where he attended school.
     He married Vera Darlene Hansford in Sunnyside, Wash., on Oct. 20, 1957, relocating to The Dalles in 1961. He served in the National Guard for 10 years, was a member of Covenant Christian Community Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being with his family.
     He is survived by his wife, Vera Erlenbush; three sons, Russell Erlenbush and his wife Kathy, Jay Erlenbush and his wife Debby, Scott Erlenbush and his wife Sheila; two daughters, Carrie Humphrey and Neva Austin and her husband Stuart; his grandchildren, Paige Erlenbush, Jenea Burkhart and her husband Nick, Alena Patchett, Gia Humphrey, Kayla Austin, Matthew Austin and his wife Bethany, Michelle Austin, Colleen Austin, Meghan Erlenbush, Christina James, Tiffany James and Trisha Erlenbush; his sister Margaret Mary and his brother, Lawrence Erlenbush of the Tri-Cities.
     Viewing/visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
     A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at Covenant Christian Community Church.
     Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with arrangements under the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
