Vivian Helen Theresa Triplett
Vivian Helen Theresa Triplett, 79, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.
She was born on July 21, 1929 in Vancouver, Wash., the third of three children to Charles Hale Mears and Vera Ellen (Cecil) Mears.
She moved to Michigan in the late 1940s, returning to Oregon where she met Henry Triplett in the early 1950s, eventually getting married in October of 1953 in Reno, Nev.
She worked at Stadleman’s fruit industry for many years. She was a member of the Teamsters Union, St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Barbara’s Circle, and Eagles Lodge for 31 years. She had a passion for reading as well as riding horses and won the Presidential Fitness Award for equestrian.
She is survived by her son, Michael Bartholemew, Ontario; her daughters, Lynne Triplett-Rone-Adams and her husband George, Pahrump, Nev.; and Rae Triplett-Wickersham and her husband Rex, The Dalles; her sister, Marla Whedon, Milwaukie; two grandchildren, James and Jason Weaver; numerous step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Hanna Wickersham, Cody Bloodsworth and Sage Olmstead; nieces and nephews, Rene Peterson, Craig Whedon, Marta Gurr, Deanna Hoelz, Marc Whedon and David Hein; and her close personal friend Ginger Atwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Edris Freno, her nephew, Dennis Hein and close friend, Doris Ryan.
Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with arrangements in the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
