Robert ‘Bob’ Wesley Morris
Robert “Bob” Wesley Morris, 88, a resident of Rufus, died at a care facility in The Dalles Sunday, March 14, 2010.
He was born in Rufus, Feb. 2, 1922, the sixth child of seven children to Walter A. and Minnie L. (Hulery) Morris. He grew up in Rufus where he graduated from high school in 1940.
He married Bernadine E. Lash in Goldendale on Feb. 21, 1947. He resided in Rufus his entire life.
He was a retired orchardist and motel owner and operator, a charter member of the Rufus Volunteer Fire Dept. and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Shirley White, Rufus; and Susan Williams, The Dalles; his son, Tom Morris and his wife Dianne, Goldendale; his grandchildren, Phillip White and Adrian, Rob Morris and Heidi, Brian Fix and Diane Jacoby and Cristy Fix; his great-grandchildren, Joel, Misty Erica, Jack and Brennan; two siblings, Marge Klock and Betty Myers-Opperman and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine, his parents, two sisters, Jean Brown and Lila Adams, one brother, Joe Morris and a grandson, Mike White.
Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 1 p.m. at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery.
